Slagenwhite, James 9/11/1943 - 10/28/2015 Milan James Lewis Slagenwhite, 72, of Milan, Michigan, passed away on October 28, 2015. James was born September 11, 1943 in Superior Township, Michigan. He was the son of the late Cecil Slagenwhite and Grace Minnie (Ish) Slagenwhite. James enjoyed golfing, fishing, and watching sports. He was employed by Eastern Michigan University Police Department as a Detective Sergeant from 1968 until his retirement in 1991. After retirement he worked at Reddeman Farms Golf Club until 2012. James served his country in the Navy from 1962 through 1966. To cherish his memory he leaves one son; James E. (Christina) Slagenwhite of Belleville, one daughter; Jennifer R. (Brian) Slagenwhite of Stockbridge, two brothers; William Slagenwhite of Whitmore Lake, and Larry (Sue) Slagenwhite of Ida, one sister; Kathy Montouri of Mackinaw City, six grandchildren; Breanna, Jenna, Caleb, Kayla, Jennifer, and Michael, three great grandchildren; Kaeley, Carter, and Karlee, former wife; Cathy Coviak of Ann Arbor who remained his friend and advocate, and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Those who wish, may contribute to Arbor Hospice. Jim was my old buddy really sad to see this man go but I know he was in a lot of pain sleep well my friend till we meet again

To Jim and his children and grandchildren, may his life be carried on in and through his posterity...that love is all there is.  Glad I could know Jim for a little while.
