Paulette was my first friend in Ypsilanti.  I moved to Ypsi when I was ten and went into fourth grade at the old high school building, which was then K-12.  Gail Peterson, Tom Hall and several others from our graduating class were in that classroom, as well.  She lived right across the street from school and couldn't wait to get home every day to see her baby sister.  We drifted apart as we got older, as friends often do, but I always thought she was special.  RIP Paulette.
